This section provides important safety information, precautions, and usage guidelines to help you use SnorOFF correctly. Reading and following these instructions ensures optimal therapy performance while minimizing potential risks.

GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Purpose:

SnorOFF is a daytime therapy device that uses mild neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) to strengthen tongue muscles and help reduce snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

To ensure safe and effective use, please follow these guidelines carefully.

General Warnings:

  • This device is intended for use by adults (18+) only.
  • Do not use SnorOFF while sleeping, driving, eating, or drinking.
  • Use only as directed and for its intended purpose to perform tongue muscle therapy under waking conditions.
  • If you experience pain, irritation, or dizziness, stop use immediately and consult your healthcare provider.
  • Keep the device out of reach of children and pets.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

  • Use only the supplied USB charging cable to charge the control unit.
  • Do not use the device near water sources (e.g., sinks, bathtubs, showers).
  • Do not operate or charge the device with wet hands.
  • Do not expose the control unit to rain or moisture.
  • Never attempt to open, disassemble, or repair the control unit yourself this voids warranty and may cause injury.
  • Unplug immediately if the device or cable appears damaged, melted, or frayed.
  • Avoid using near strong electromagnetic fields (e.g., MRI, microwave, or industrial equipment).
  • Do not insert any metallic or conductive objects into the charging or electrode ports.

USAGE SAFETY

  • Ensure your mouth and tongue are clean and dry before placing the device.
  • Use only the original SnorOFF mouthpiece and electrodes provided.
  • Do not share your mouthpiece with others it is a personal hygiene item.
  • Avoid using if you have open sores, ulcers, or cuts in the mouth or on the tongue.
  • During therapy, a mild tingling sensation is normal. If it becomes uncomfortable, reduce intensity using the app.
  • Do not use the device for longer than the recommended 20-minute session unless advised by your doctor.
  • Always perform therapy while awake, seated, and relaxed.
  • Do not use the device during sleep or physical activity.

CONTRAINDICATIONS (DO NOT USE IF...)

Do not use SnorOFF if you,

  • Have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or any implanted electronic device.
  • Have metal implants or dental hardware that may conduct electrical current without medical consultation.
  • Are diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) (AHI > 15) without physician approval.
  • Have neurological disorders affecting muscle control, such as ALS or facial paralysis.
  • Have open wounds, infections, or inflammation in the mouth or throat area.
  • Are pregnant, unless cleared by a physician.
  • Have recently undergone oral or dental surgery (wait until full healing).

CLEANING & CARE SAFETY

  • Always disconnect the control unit before cleaning.
  • Wipe the mouthpiece gently with a soft, damp cloth or non-alcohol disinfectant wipe after each use.
  • Do not immerse the control unit or cable in water.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry before next use.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry, dust-free place, away from sunlight.
  • Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures (above 45°C).

OPERATIONAL SAFETY

  • Always check that the device is fully charged and functioning normally before each session.
  • Start therapy with low intensity and increase gradually as comfortable.
  • Do not modify or alter device components in any way.
  • If the device behaves unexpectedly (e.g., inconsistent stimulation, sudden shutoff), stop use and contact support.
  • Only use the official SnorOFF app to control and monitor therapy sessions.
  • Do not attempt to bypass app safety controls or timers.

BATTERY & CHARGING SAFETY

  • Charge the device using 3.7V USB chargers only.
  • Do not overcharge the device unplug once fully charged.
  • Avoid using while charging.
  • Do not expose to heat, fire, or direct sunlight.
  • Never puncture, crush, or incinerate the battery.
  • If swelling or leakage occurs, discontinue use immediately.

STORAGE & TRANSPORTATION SAFETY

  • Store SnorOFF in its protective case or box when not in use.
  • Do not place heavy objects on top of the device.
  • During travel, ensure it is securely packed and turned off.
  • Avoid extreme vibration, moisture, or dust exposure.

IN CASE OF MALFUNCTION

If you observe any of the following,

  • No LED or power response
  • Burning smell or excessive heat
  • Irregular stimulation pattern
  • Bluetooth not connecting after multiple attempts

  • If you experience pain, swelling, or unusual sensation in the mouth or throat, discontinue therapy.
  • SnorOFF is designed for mild to moderate snoring relief it is not a substitute for medical treatment in severe OSA.
  • Always use under medical supervision if you have existing ENT or respiratory conditions.
